This week, we’re doing something a bit out of the norm for New Belgium, and well, me, too. The Dayblazer Easygoing Ale is New Belgium’s answer to light beer. Eric Wagner, a water treatment engineer, had a passion for cooking and decided to combine this passion and his engineering knowledge and create Apex’s first craft brewery. Tapped into Craft Libations and Victuals: BULL CITY CIDERWORKS From Tim: Bull City Ciderworks started in Durham (hence the name) but moved their operations to Lexington, NC and started fermenting apple juice in March of 2016. They’re opening an “Exploratorium” in Durham in 2017. They use premium apple juice and all natural ingredients, like gluten-free yeast, honey, black tea and tart cherries, just to name a few, in their ciders.
