Tapped into Craft Libations and Victuals:  Green Man Harvester From Spencer: Green Man is one of my favorite NC breweries located in Asheville. They started brewing craft beer in 1997 and just expanded into a new facility that is called the “Greenmansion”. This month we sampled the Harvester which is Green Man’s own version of the classic “Marzen” style. They brew this beer with “Ale” yeast instead of the typical “Lager” strain of yeast. Tapped into Craft Libations and Victuals: Straight to Ale Brewing’s He Ain’t Heffe Hefeweizen From Spencer: Straight to Ale He Ain’t Heffe is produced and bottled in Huntsville, Alabama. This beer is a German style unfiltered Wheat. This hefeweizen is 5% ABV with a slightly banana/clove flavor. Medium bodied with a bubble gum taste that finishes off with a really mild hop presence. The Southern Pines Brewing Company From Spencer: The Southern Pines Brewing Company brewed their first batch of beer in the summer of 2014. This brewery was started by three Green Berets in the US Army.  These homebrewers had a vision to start a brewery after listening to a local investor in another NC brewery.  They brew on a 15BBL system in Southern Pines, NC.   Baba Budan Coffee IPA from Appalachian Mountain Brewery & Fonta Flora Brewery From Spencer: Dark Horse Brewery started as a restaurant in This month we sampled the Baba Budan Coffee IPA that is a collaboration between Appalachian Mountain Brewery in Boone and Fonta Flora Brewery in Morganton.  This beer is named after a merchant & smuggler from the 17th century that brought over coffee seeds from Yemen to India.
