Breaktime Billiards & Sports Bar has been around 30 years, but with new management and a fully upgraded bar and pool table area, the place is brand new. The bar has a 24 beers on tap–local and imported, plus a great selection of craft beers. Remodeled from the ground up last September, Break Time features a brand new bar area, 12 brand new pool tables, and 30 flat-screen TVs with all the sport packages you could think of.
Break Time is not just your run of the mill bar, it also has the only Snooker table in North Carolina. Snooker is a cue sport that originated among British Army officers stationed in India in the latter half of the 19th century, and is similar to pool but not quite (don’t ask me how I know). The bar also features a newly added patio area, for those who want relax outside. Beer is not the only thing on the menu–there are also bar favorites like fried mozzarella, wings, and traditional italian food such as meatballs and other favorites. The bar hosts an open mic night on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays, DJ Snow (1-2-3 Night) on the 2nd and 4th Thursday, DJs every Fridays, and live bands on Saturday starting at 9pm. They have some of the best drink specials in the Piedmont plus ladies play pool for FREE after 9pm Sunday thru Thursday night.
Break Time hosts bands that play jazz, blues, 80’s, and 70’s rock, whatever you like, there is something for everyone. Break Time is also the home of an in-house pool league that has APA pool on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Break Time Billiards is a place that you can come chill out, get a few drinks, and play some pool or throw some darts. During my visit there I took in the atmosphere, ordered a drink, and tasted some of the most delicious wings that I have ever sunk my
teeth into. The bartender was friendly and very knowledgeable. This place is a gem,
and if you have not been to this upscale billiards pub, you need to get there because you won’t be disappointed.
