Reel Seafood Grill gives back to the community

By Gary Jacques
Reel Seafood Grill, located at 2002 New Garden Road, Suite 208, in Greensboro, offers a unique customer experience, specializing in fresh seafood, a raw oyster bar, and an eclectic wine list.
Reel Seafood Grill has been serving the community since 2013. Owners Steven Stern and Todd Benton are at the restaurant daily with a hands-on approach, ensuring top quality customer service and food. They credit their great staff for their success over the years in addition to the seafood selection and oyster bar they offer. Stern describes Reel Seafood Grill: “We offer a full plate, a great meal, and a quality customer experience.”
The restaurant supports the community by offering live music the first and second Tuesday of each month. Ten percent of food sales from these events go to a local charity. Past recipients include Sanctuary

House as well as Hospice and Palliative care of Greensboro. This fall proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Urban Ministry Potter’s House.
Todd Benton has been focusing on the wine program by creating a global wine list that offers an extensive selection of wines at a value-based price point, including 30 available by the glass. Each month a wine dinner is held that features five wines from a different region of the world, paired with a five-course meal for $55 per person, plus tax and gratuity. The next dinner is scheduled for Tuesday November 28th. Reservations are required.
Steve Stern takes pride with their made from scratch menu and fresh seafood. Steve even goes to the local farmers markets in order to feature local vegetables and produce as much as possible. Every entrée is made to order from scratch & can meet special dietary needs, including gluten-free dishes.

Reel offers four to five varieties of oysters nightly, from both East and West coasts, to ensure the freshest selection regardless of season. Steve describes the savory sensation of oysters: “They’re like wine. Each has a different flavor.” Currently stump sound oysters are featured which are harvested from the north end of Topsail Island Bridge. Every Monday each dozen is on special for $5 off.
Reel Seafood Grill offers something for everyone. Enjoy one of the best burgers in Greensboro for $10, or a taco dinner for $14. Whole Snapper and Whole Flounder are popular menu items. There are dishes for meat lovers, lamb, and low country boils. Daily blackboard specials offer quality food and great value.
The restaurant is family-friendly. Holiday private parties can be arranged. Their New Year’s Eve Party will begin at 10 p.m.
Space is available for luncheons and private parties. Catering is offered upon request.
