Tiquers Alley: Local Treasure in Downtown Kernersville

Meet Eugene and Bobbie Baker; owners of Tiquers Alley, one of the latest treasures in beautiful, historic downtown Kernersville, NC.
As I interviewed them, folks just stopped in to chat for a while. Some made purchases. Others brought gifts. Tiquers Alley is warm like that …and inviting.
The Bakers have raised an amazing family after they retired, they envisioned spending more time with one another. Too vibrant to sit still, after retirement, they decided on a joint venture to give them more “together time”. They combined their skills and talents, plunged into the housing market and carved a niche for themselves in property management. They didn’t stop there. Bobbie had an idea to salvage, refurbish and resell all types of items. After testing the waters they decided to open Tiquers Alley.
Eugene’s career began with him working on the Lunar Module which, as you know, landed the first man on the moon in 1969. He excelled in industrial management before later retiring and settling in North Carolina.
Bobbie is a 30-year retired banker. As a banker, Bobbie marketed products for several banking institutions. Bobbie was also a Mary Kay Consultant/Director. She was honored as one of their top directors: earning nationwide recognition.
Bobbie will tell you that she has sold ‘something for as long as she can remember. Bobbie has a talent for marketing and sales. She says she get it from her father, who was a self made entrepreneur. She will also tell you she is not alone. If not for the tremendous support of her husband, Eugene, none of it could have been possible. It is teamwork that made the dream work.
The Bakers bring that same business savvy to Tiquers Alley; where they offer a plethora of handmade crafts and precious finds. Since opening in October, Tiquers Alley now has several Tiquers and hundreds of items at crazy affordable prices.
