Elm Street Lounge: Upscale music venue opens in Downtown Greensboro
by Sarah K Wilson
Recently Elm Street Lounge has opened its doors downtown Greensboro on Elm Street, bringing an upscale music venue to the city. The venue is owned by William Galloway, whose passion for and love of music led him to open this unique big-city-feel bar to share with the community. The goal of the venue is to bring everyone together for a unique experience with live music every night, encompassing genres such as jazz, blues, motown, beach music, as well as some R&B. The venue is a great business casual spot with a contemporary modern feel and upscale luxurious decor. In attempt to share this unique experience with as many people as possible, Elm Street does not charge a cover fee for entry.
Elm Street Lounge also has delicious food catered nightly by Simply Soul, that goes perfectly with the craft and classic cocktails and the smooth jazzy tunes. Thursday is open mic night, hosted by Josephus Thompson, which is the perfect night for sharing poetry and music and meeting new members of the community.
Top-notch customer service can always be expected at Elm Street Lounge, as this venue is very community-oriented and inviting, with an experienced and professional staff to liven the night. As of now, the unique venue is open from Thursday to Saturday, with food and music every night. This venue is completely different than any of the surrounding bars in the Triad, making it a great space to mingle, dance, celebrate, or even catch up on work emails.
